Mercy & Care
BENEVOLENCE
Our mission is to show the love and compassion of Christ by assisting with short- term needs of First Baptist Church members and those within our community with a goal to move people toward spiritual, financial, emotional, mental, and physical health.
BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY
This ministry provides care to those suffering a loss; including food trays, meals and visits to families affected.
BLESSING BOX
Located at the second entrance to our campus, closest to Shaw Ferry Road. We keep donations on the premises and replenish as needed. We need volunteers willing to check the box on a consistent basis. We accept all of the following donations: dry goods, canned foods, plastic jarred foods, toiletry items
CAR CARE CLINIC
For the widows, widowers and single parents. Reliable car maintenance is often an expense passed over for those living on fixed incomes. On a quarterly basis, maintenance involves oil change, tire check and other basic elements.
COUNSELING MINISTRY
Pointing people to the Grace of God, through the Truth of the Word of God, for the Glory of God. We help others by taking the truth from the Bible, and graciously relating it to a person or persons who are struggling under the weight of sin and/or the difficulties with suffering. Our goal is to help each person live a life that is pleasing to God. We also offer GriefShare, DivorceCare and a Women's Cancer Support Group.
English Language Learner (ELL)
This group is just starting to form to begin a ministry to those who want to learn the English language and provide an avenue to share the Gospel with the lost. Preliminary plans are to begin having classes in August of 2025. Volunteers are needed for various roles, and training is available.
FAMILY MEAL TRAIN
Our “Meal Train” ministry is designed to help families as they bring a new bundle of joy into their homes by providing meals. Anytime a church member welcomes a new child into their home via birth, adoption, or fostering, we set up a schedule of meals for their family so they can focus on their newest blessing. If interested in helping or being added to the email list, please contact Lauren Lowpasser at llowpasser@outlook.com.
FIRST FEEDS
God gave us a commandment in John 13:34, “that you love one another, just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” First Feeds is a ministry that spreads God’s love through feeding hungry children from East Tennessee to East Africa and everywhere in-between. This ministry formed during the pandemic of 2020, and is still going today. We offer help locally through meal delivery, prayer, and other miscellaneous needs.
HELPING HANDS
Want to help others? Handy with carpentry skills? Plumbing? Electrical? Jack of all trades?
We strive to provide these services to those in need, whether financial or physical. We work with the individual to determine the need and the best way to meet it. We need people who can be called upon to help when the needs arise.
HUGGS MINISTRY
Huggs Ministry is a rewarding ministry consisting of teams visiting people in Assisted Living facilities, Nursing Home facilities, Memory Care facilities, and Shut-Ins. Huggs also has teams who Mail Cards and make Calls to people in the situations noted.

CHILDRENS MINISTRY
In our programs, we aim to help kids learn more about God and His Word through praise and worship (Psalm 100:2), age-appropriate Bible lessons (2 Timothy 3:16), games and activities, small group discussions, and fellowship. We are here to help equip parents to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6) and to emphasize missions and how the children are able to participate even at a young age (Matthew 28:19).

This ministry is dedicated to helping students develop their spiritual gifts, deepen their faith, and become disciples who make a difference in the world according to Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Rather, train yourself in godliness. For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” We seek to accomplish this task through Bible studies and special events.
Senior Adults
Senior Adult (55+) ministry is an incredible opportunity to encourage believers to become mature in Christ. The Mission of Lenoir City Christian Academy is to partner with parents in the discipleship journey of their children, engaging them in the Bible, establishing a Christian worldview, and equipping students to be successful, life-long learners. LCCA exists to provide biblically-centered and developmentally appropriate academic instruction with the intention of equipping children to grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). Administration
ADMINISTRATION MINISTRY
Buildings – Our property consists of: Education Building, Worship Center, Life Center, and Vehicle Storage Building, outdoor Pavilion with a fire pit and soccer fields. Our buildings are used almost every day of the week for both ministry and school. The property is maintained by our Facility Team and Property Team and Custodians.
Transportation - Vehicles are available to FBCLC staff and members who are approved/certified licensed drivers for church-related business and activities. All church vehicles are maintained by the Transportation Team.
Kitchen - Our kitchen stays quite busy throughout the year! We prepare and serve most of the events that happen within all ministry areas. We have a newly formed kitchen team as well that keeps the kitchen organized, keeps up with inventory, and oversees the use of the kitchen during events.
Personnel - We currently have 8 Ministerial, 13 Support staff, 6 Worship Techs part-time, 5 Childcare part-time, and 5 Facility Team employees. We have a fantastic staff and love working with you and alongside each other.
Information Technology - Responsible for maintaining the network infrastructure, servers, email system, firewall, cloud environments, workstations, printers, HVAC controls, security cameras, and access control systems. Also assists LCCA with their technology needs and the administration and maintenance of student chromebooks.
SECURITY & MEDICAL
Security Team
The church security team uses a multi-layered approach to safety at First Baptist that includes facility securement, video monitoring, church members, and local law enforcement. In addition to regular church services, the security team regularly serves during specials events of the church, as well as community events held at the church. The security team also serves in an advisory role to the Lenoir City Christian Academy.
Medical Team
The medical team serves under the direction of the security team and assists with health related emergencies. A rotating group of church members, who are licensed medical professionals, are scheduled to serve during regular church services and certain special events.
HOSPITALITY
Greeter Ministry - The Greeter ministry exists to welcome those coming to our church. We are here to greet you with a smiling face, help you find a Discipleship class or a seat in a Worship service. We love showing new people around our facility.
Church-wide Events - FBCLC believes that having a healthy church includes good fellowship and bringing all believers together. We do this by having several church-wide events throughout the year. With that said, it takes many hands to make light work! Depending on the event, we need people who are willing to work with food including but not limited to prep, serving, running, and cleanup.
Parking Lot Team - This is the only ministry team that influences every person who drives onto our campus. From regular attendees or members, they are the first to extend a warm, friendly greeting. They are a very important first impression of our church. Where do worship services begin at church? Surprisingly, it actually begins in the parking lot, each and every service, the Parking Lot Ministry Team, made up of dedicated volunteers, has the distinct opportunity to make a positive impression on our worshipers.
Harvest Host - We are a Harvest Host stay location. Members of Harvest Host can request a stay here on our campus for the night as they travel to their next destination. We have enjoyed meeting lots of new folks through this program, many of them have attended our services or events while staying on our property. We look forward to the people the Lord will bring our way in the future.
