OUR MISSION PARTNERS

HOPE RESOURCE CENTER

General Prayer Needs

  • For HOPE's staff and new Executive Director, Emily
  • For our patients facing unexpected pregnancies
  • For our partnering churches during this busy Christmas season

Staff Focus
Join us in praying specifically for Rachel Snyder, RN, this month. Rachel has been on our staff since July 2022 and she is thriving here as she serves our patients with compassion and kindness. Coming from a hospital background, we are thankful to have her knowledge and expertise for patient care. She is truly a gift to our staff and we are so grateful for her service.

CAPITOL COMMISSION

Ministry That Continues

I continue to serve the staff that remains throughout the year by an ongoing Bible study and pastoral presence in the Legislative building. There was a great turnout for a staff planned and provided Thanksgiving luncheon. Please pray for the staffers as they bear the burden of caring for constituent needs and the obligations of their bosses in the Legislature.

Please pray for our Legislators and staff as they get ready to return to Legislative Session in January. In a similar sense, pray for me as I prepare the lessons to share in Bible Study. I will also be working toward scheduling speakers for the Chapel Devotions each week of Session.

1.  Wisdom as he prepares for the next Session beginning January 9th.  He is working on Bible studies, organizing speakers for Wednesday chapels, and organizing a special breakfast in late February.
2.  Strong financial support for year end as they are bit short of goal.

DISASTER RELIEF

REMOTE AREA MEDICAL
Knox County Disaster Relief will be feeding volunteer workers and patients at this year's Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic at the Jacobs Building on January 12-14, 2024. Workers are needed from Thursday, January 11th thru Sunday, January 14th. Setup and preparation will begin on Thursday. Meals will be prepared at Sevier Heights Baptist and Sharon Baptist, then transported to the Jacobs Building for serving. We will serve patients this year, which will add additional meals to be prepared and require more volunteers. If you can serve any time during these four days, please contact Tina Golden @ 865-382-9844.

HINDMAN, KENTUCKY REBUILD TEAM (BCM Trip)
Knox County Disaster Relief Rebuild Team will be leading the (BCM) Baptist Collegiate Ministry Students to Hindman, Kentucky to restore homes that were flooded last year. The team will leave Knoxville on Sunday, January 7, 2024 and return late Friday, January 12, 2024. Additional information will be coming at a later date. If you can serve on this team, please contact me ASAP. Planning for this trip needs to be finalized early due to the holidays and the students going home for Christmas.

MISSION EURASIA

Gift of Hope - Once again our Poland team is preparing to distribute 10,000 gift boxes together with children’s literature to Ukrainian refugee kids.  This is a huge opportunity to share the love of Jesus with those who are hurting.  Our team has already set-up distribution points through local churches across Poland for all 10,000 boxes.  Please pray for these outreaches, that many kids and their families will be impacted with the Gospel of Jesus.
But we have a critical need.  We have the Gift of Hope boxes and the literature, but we still don’t have enough funding to fill all the boxes.  I estimate that just under $20,000 is still needed for this project in Poland.  Please pray for this important need, that God would provide.  If you would like to help, go to our website or let me know.  Thanks!
Women’s Christmas Tea - Esther has been invited to speak at a neighborhood Christmas tea locally this Thursday morning.  She will share stories of hope from our time in Poland with the goal of sharing the hope of Jesus.  Please pray for a movement of the Spirit, that He might give Esther the words to say and that hearts would be open to Jesus.
Family - It was such a treat to have Joy help lead worship on Sunday.  Praise the Lord!  She is enjoying her seasonal job at Marshall’s and has been given plenty of hours.  This is another praise!  Yesterday she also began a 2 month winter-term course for college.  Pray that she can balance everything.
We continue to focus on and care for our family.  We simply ask you to keep praying for us, asking the Lord for His grace and mercy.  Pray that we would all deeply know His peace this Christmas.
